After receiving the email about this week’s Photo Hunt theme from TNChick – SCARY – I had to tell myself to breathe. I am not all that scared by many things. But the things that do scare me, holy cow! I will run screaming from a room that has any of them! And this action was evident the other day when our cat, Eris, brought forth one of the scariest things the other day. . . a MOUSE! Eeeekkkk!! It caused the 3 younger SOCs and I to run screaming from the living room, while Mr. Dragyn and SOC #1 dealt with the cat unwilling to let go of her prize.
These pictures are from earlier this year, when Eris brought out another mouse (check out my blog post about it here), but I am especially proud of them because I took them despite them being scared. Please note the blurriness of the last 2 pictures. Yeah. I was shaking that much!

Good for you for facing your fear, even if it made the pictures blurry. You make me think of my grandmother running through the house with a broom chasing rats. Talk about scary!

Cats have a reputation for bringing “things” home – it’s a present for the head of the household … but it’s always rather a shock when you find the mouse or bird on your doorstep .

Great that the cat got it though. I hate mice too, they scare the pants off of me too. Even though I’m 100 times bigger than them! They still scare me. Great post. Thanks for stopping by mine.

Eris is a good mouser! Better a dead mouse than a live one running around the living room. Good Kitty!

That’s the thing about pet kitties — it’s just a toy. They just play with the little mousies until they just go into shock and die. Once they stop moving, they’re no longer interesting. We had a minor invasion years ago, when the lot next door was being built on. Poor little mousies had nowhere to go, so they came here. Poor choice with 2 kitties on patrol. You think you were scared? How scared was the mouse?
Thanks for stopping by and have a great, SCARY week!

Mice don’t frighten me, but I wouldn’t want one running up my leg. Our cat has brought the odd one in the house too. It is not great when it is still alive. You did well to get photos despite how scary it was.

The first time I had to deal with a dead mouse, it was a bit scary. But our Callie is such a good mouser, if we leave her be with her prey, she’ll even carry them outside for us.

Looks like that mouse ventured a little too close to the Dragyn’s Lair.

Don’t you hate it when they do that. The other day a person came to my door. I was in my socks. I stepped outside without looking and some kitty had left a dead rat. I didn’t scream but it was very awkward.

Poor mousie. It looks cute but it looks dead
. That’s how the cats like it. Dead and unmoving. If it moves, it’s in trouble.
